My Leadership Journey
It started with an invitation
In 2016, my classmate (and our current AVMA President) Dr. Rena Carlson, invited me to apply for the AVMF Board of Directors. I generally listen to Rena and heed her advice. Once I overcame the tremendous imposter syndrome, I was so glad I followed up on that invitation. Connecting, serving and implementing change on a national level with icons of our profession, got me hooked to become more involved with local, state and national advocacy and mentorship. Other roles have come by intentional pursuit as well as saying yes to more invitations along my leadership journey. Please see my recent timeline to see what I've been involved in. If you have questions about any of these organizations, or if you see something you'd like to get involved with, I'd love to help.
